The Lamp Project

Inspired by the darkling beetle, this light fixture draws from the intricate relationship between its wings, claws, and legs as tools for survival in harsh environments. The design emphasizes a balance between protection and adaptability, where rigid structural elements echo the strength of the beetle's limbs, while layered surfaces suggest the shielding function of its wings. When illuminated, overlapping forms create shifting patterns of light and shadow, revealing textures that mimic the resilience and efficiency of the beetle's anatomy. The composition highlights the defensive structure and subtle movement.
